This #GivingTuesday, give to the future of Fiver.

Like many organizations, the COVID19 pandemic required us to rethink how we delivered programs so that we could support our youth and families, many of whom were acutely impacted.  Through swift action, creativity, and dedication, we were able to create innovative programming, increase one-on-one support, and sustain our work throughout an uncertain time. We have emerged a stronger community and were able to return to in-person programming this summer, both in our New York City office with our job training program, and at Camp Fiver, for our residential camp experience. 

As we began to envision what our new normal would look like, we knew that we couldn’t just go back to business as usual. The challenges of the pandemic also presented new opportunities in the ways we could pursue our mission while embracing growth, technology, and a renewed gratitude for connectedness. 
 

By listening to our Fiver community of program participants, families, alumni, funders, staff, and volunteers, we learned that in order to further our mission, we needed to deepen our ability to support youth, and invest in those who make the magic of Fiver real for our young people, our incredible team of seasonal and year-round staff.  To build Fiver’s future, we recognize we need to:
 

• Increase Fiver’s impact by increasing the depth and frequency of youth engagement through developing a permanent hybrid model of in-person and virtual programming, developing deeper connections and support services for alumni, and continuing to measure our impact.
• Magnify Fiver’s core strength – its people- by evolving as an equitable organization, developing future leaders, and ensuring succession through a continued commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, planning for future leadership transitions, and providing pathways to leadership for staff at all levels of the organization.

Fiver has thrived over the past 21 years because of the unwavering support of friends like you. This #GivingTuesday, we ask that you consider making an investment in the future of Fiver with your contribution.
